The local business market is booming everywhere you look.  As we all head in droves to the internet to literally lookup everything and anything, local businesses are playing catch up to the changing tide.   You can’t ignore it, it won’t go away and for those that hold out they are left behind as it’s a race to the top that never ends.  Now the local business market is a much easier market (for the most part) to compete in locally (at least right now it is).

  1. Thank you for the informative post! However i have a question, Since Google itself is focusing more and more on Local results. I have a question, How does Google Local order its results? because this is really something i am yet to find out.. can you help me with it?

    That’s a good question Krysta! you have really made me think..! i guess the Google places review matters the most. If someone has good no of reviews it gets a preference in Google places results, Kevin can tell us more about it.. lets wait for him to answer this one.

    Hey Krysta, sorry I didn’t see your question/comment until now. I think you’re talking about Google Places and that is a bit more of a mystery that is constantly changing. There is still the original 7-box and then there are integrated results where it looks like a regular listing but it also has Google Places information. One thing to remember now with the integrated results is that you can OUTRANK Google Places (before the 7-box always appeared before the regular results).
