Inspired by a few other people (after reading through their list) I wanted to share some of the tools I use in my business. I’m leaving out some of the typical ones that everyone has in their list hoping to add some additional items that people may not have heard about before or aren’t as popular.
No tool or set of tools will make you succeed, but they can certainly help streamline and systemize things to assist you and allow more leverage.

Have you claimed your local business listing? Google Places (formally Google Local, and often referred to as Google Maps Listing) is a free service provided by Google. It is a directory of local businesses, allowing a business owner to claim their listing.

I stumbled upon a great little online service for entrepreneurs and business owners who may be struggling with things like bookkeeping/invoicing. I’m no accountant, and I hate using things like Quickbooks. I end up having to pay an accountant as I should. But day-to-day invoicing is something I hope I can handle. I want to make it EASY for my customers to pay me and easy for me to keep track. So what is Freshbooks and how can it help you?

It happens in any business, but particularly in internet marketing and online businesses. When you are heavily involved in creating products, websites, designing forms, templates, you could even be creating your invoice and suffer the problem. You may be a perfectionist and that isn’t going to get you to your goals or reach your freedom target. It doesn’t have to be perfect and usually, you don’t even know what perfect is. All you can identify is that you don’t like it, so you tinker with something until you do, wasting more time and procrastinating – putting off other waaaaaay more important tasks that will help you achieve your goals. So then how do you stop?

There are countless products online trying to sell you the quick fix, get-rich-quick schemes; people working from home in their underwear making six figures. You sit back and think to yourself “I want to sit in MY underwear and work from home too!” People become so enticed with the goal that they forget there is a process to get there. They want the fastest, easiest, short cut (I don’t blame them. Who doesn’t want the easy way if you can get it?). Allow me to explain why I believe people think it’s too hard.

So a new year is upon us and we’re all making our plans for the year. Maybe not thorough plans but certainly wants & desires you have for the upcoming year. Goals about fitness, your health or changes you want to make in your life. Many people are trying to start up an online business on the side likely, and want to do it with little or no money (can’t afford to). I believe that’s possible, but somewhat restrictive and self defeating.
