6-Figure Offline Consulting Turning Point
It truly is amazing what we can do when our backs are up against the wall. It’s no surprise that some of the biggest success stories are from those that had no choice! Do you see the connection here? I have a special guest interview with James Reynolds from Dubai. James only a short year ago (less than 1 year ago) got into the Internet Marketing. James has built up over a 6-figure income in less than a year, a full business with team members and is on track for doubling that if he keeps this up.
James had a ‘regular’ job in the photography business, made good money and was about to become partner in the company he was working for. But he got the bug, the IM bug and turned down a lucrative offer and went his own way!
In this interview James outlines how he started out and some important questions answered:
- Why James chose this business model.
- How James got his first consulting client.
- What James started offering his consulting clients in the beginning.
There is a real key piece that James talks about, the turning point where his business really started to grow and his top source of where he gets business from!
Take a listen to see key change in his strategy that resulted in huge growth and onto his 6-figures in less than 1 year!

Inspiring interview! Thanks, Kevin and James.
I’d love to know more about how you went about getting your speaking engagements. What kind of organisations were they with?

Hi Luke,
I have 2 objectives when it comes to public speaking;
1. Authority building
2. Lead generation
I have thus targeted 2 types of speaking engagement. The first is internet marketing events. These are great in terms of positioning, especially if you can get on the bill alongside other ‘industry experts’. I wrote about that here; http://www.incredibleinternetmarketing.com/how-to/overnight-authority-formula/
These types of gigs will come via referral. Best to buddy up with other speakers and ask them to put you forward when events are being planned. Event organizers will generally go on recommendation so it will really help if you can find other speakers who already have those relationships.
The second is my own events. For lead generation I prefer my own events, as this ensures what I have to offer does not get lost amongst 10 other pitches. It takes more work to put on your own events, but it means you have full control (the list, door receipts and sales will be all your own.) For my consulting business I target Business Groups, Chamber of Commerce etc – all of which actively look for speakers to deliver valuable content to their members.
Networking events, Round Table, Business Councils are great organizations to approach. Does that help?
James

Hey Kevin,
I love listening to these kind of stories. I too wound up blogging in the online world as a result of not wanting to work for anyone and create a lifestyle that is more in alignment with who I am.
I’m just an infant in the IM world but I am willing to learn as much as I can to become successful.
